Current Firmware Release:  V2.4.0

SPS-1 Firmware — What's New

Version 2.4.0

Use the RS-485 and USB connections at the same time

Previously the unit chose one connection at startup — either RS-485 (DCN) or USB — and responded only to that port until the next power cycle. Now both connections are active together. You can send commands over either one at any time, and each reply comes back on the connection the command came in on. No more unplugging or power-cycling to switch between them.

Settings now save reliably when configuring over USB

Fixed an issue introduced in V2.3.0 where changes made over the USB connection (with no 12 V power applied) appeared to take effect but were lost after a power cycle. All settings now save correctly when configured over USB.

Configuration changes take effect immediately

Intentional setting changes are now saved right away instead of after a short delay, so a change followed quickly by a power cycle is no longer lost.

Version 2.3.0

Improved handling of sudden power loss

The unit now detects a hard loss of 12 V power and shuts its output off immediately for a cleaner, safer power-down.  Undervoltage faults normally have a ½ second delay.  After such an event, the unit also starts back up correctly instead of occasionally reporting a false Watch-Dog fault.

Fixed output flickering during an overload Corrected a condition where an overcurrent (overload) event could cause the output to trip off, briefly switch back on, and then trip off again. An overload now trips cleanly the first time.

More robust operation Internal Watch-Dog circuit timing was improved to keep the unit running dependably across a wider range of operating temperatures and supply conditions.

Version 2.2.0

USB connection support Added support for configuring and communicating with the unit over a USB connection, in addition to the existing RS-485 connection.

More information in status messages Status/update messages now include the unit's address and setting switch positions.
