Protect your radio from power supply failures with this crowbar circuit! It can be set to trip at 15 or 16 volts. The circuit is designed to operate with typical power supplies operating at 13.8 volts.

If the power supply voltage exceeds the preset level, the crowbar instantly creates a short circuit across the input to blow the fuse and prevent radios and other equipment on the output from seeing the excess voltage. You supply the standard automotive blade fuse. The MiniBar supports fuse ratings up to 30 Amps.
The full kit includes a circuit board with the surface mount components pre-populated, 2 Anderson PowerPole connectors, an automotive blade type fuse holder, a 3 pin header and jumper connector to select the trip voltage. The kit also includes 2 pre-cut acrylic plates to protect and insulate the top and bottom of the PC board, and the necessary hardware to mount the plates to the board.
The board can handle up to 20 amps continuous or up to 30 amps at a 50% duty cycle of 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off.

Tested, works as advertised. Only negative is the output LED will be lit when the fuse is blown if there is no load present. With a load, the LED is off.

These MiniBar 15-16 Crowbar kits are great! My radios and other electronics are now protected from any possible power surges do to faulty power supplies or charge controllers. Simple kit to put together and everything in the kit is top shelf. I really like the design.
